A bit about Emma:
‘I started playing golf at the age of 10 as both my brother and dad played. As a keen sportsperson, I picked up golf quickly (much to my brothers dismay!) and soon it became my life. When I was 14, I was offered a Golf Scholarship to Loretto School in Musselburgh, Scotland and at this stage I was competing as part of the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association Junior Development Squads around the UK. When I finished school, I knew I wanted my work life to be based around sports so I studied Applied Sports Science (BSc Hons) at The University of Edinburgh, majoring in Sports Medicine and Sports Biomechanics. During my time at University, I represented GB & I in the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand and won the Scottish Universities Championships on a number of times over my 4 years studying.’
‘I turned professional is 2010 after many years of playing competitive golf. My first Trainee Assistant job was working as a member of the team at the prestigious Gullane Golf Club in Scotland (Open Qualifying venue, Past Scottish Open venue and US Kids European Championships venue). During my 5 years at Gullane, I completed my PGA Degree in Professional Golf, and qualified as leading trainee in Scotland for all three years and finished runner up in the UK PGA Trainee of the Year awards in 2013. During this time I was playing in the Tartan Tour. My biggest highlight was qualifying for the Scottish PGA Championships in 2014- I was only the second ever woman to Qualify to play in the event held at Gleneagles. By this time, I was very passionate about coaching, particularly junior development, and was involved with Scottish Golf and a number of initiatives including coaching the U/15 Scottish Development Centre in the East Region and as a ClubGolf Coach.’
‘In 2014, I decided it was time to see the world and made the move to Auckland, New Zealand where my brother lives. I was offered a job to facilitate Junior Development Programmes at The Institute of Golf, working closely with Craig Dixon and Guy Wilson, Lydia Ko and past World Number 1’s former coach. I learned so much from working with these successful coaches over my 4 years with IOG and had the opportunity to work with some of New Zealands top Amateur golfers of all ages.’
‘I’ve been in New Zealand for 10 years and am now a permanent resident and married to a Kiwi! My love affair with New Zealand comes down to more than just golf- I love the outdoors and keeping fit so the lifestyle here is perfect. You’ll most often find me out for a hike or in the water, so when I was given an opportunity to work and live north of Auckland in the Rodney area, I snapped up the opportunity to get closer to the water. I now live with my husband , Luke, in Snells Beach who is also a NZPGA Professional. I am extremely passionate about providing opportunities for junior and female golfers and focus on creating safe and fun environments for these players to develop their skills. I am a qualified PG Strong L1 Coach and studied Sports Science at University, now using my knowledge in these areas to help players develop their bodies to support their golf swings so that they can play golf for the rest of their lives.’

“I have been a client of Emma’s for over 3 years and I really look forward to my regular on course lessons and online catch ups. Emma’s enthusiastic and professional approach to improving her clients’ golf game, from the pure mechanics through to mental game improvement and fitness, I have found has improved not just my handicap but perhaps even more importantly my enjoyment of this wonderful but at times frustrating game. Emma offers a great blend of technical assistance from the use of specialist software, statistical analysis of my performance, and of course her vast knowledge and experience from her life as a golf professional. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their skills and enjoyment of the game.”
“My lessons from Emma have helped me gain confidence in executing the shot I want to make. From my thought process to my shot process. I found her instructions very easy to understand and to implement...”
“I met Emma after returning to golf after 15 years of family life... Emma focuses on the whole game. I would recommend Emma to anyone who like me loves the game but at the time the game doesn’t love them. Getting to the course and understanding and executing with consistency is a great feeling.”
“Emma has an effortless connection with my daughters. She shows great dedication, patience and skill in teaching them the fundamentals of golf. My daughters love their time learning under Emma- she upholds the highest standards of golf mentoring.”
